The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held his regular live conversation with followers on social media, where he also commented on the recordings linked to Ergys Agasi.
Asked by citizen Emirjona Dushi whether Prime Minister Edi Rama appears in the rumored videos, Berisha stated that, according to information in his possession, Rama is indeed filmed in one video.
“I have denounced this, and according to the information I possess, he is filmed in a video,” Berisha stated, adding that, according to him, Rama is not shamed by any video or act.
Emirjona Dushi: Doctor, in parliament you spoke about Ergys Agasi’s videos, stating that many Socialist Party MPs appear in them. Rumors have circulated among the public that Rama appears in these videos as well. According to your information, does such a video exist?
Sali Berisha: In fact, Mrs. Dushi, I have denounced this, and according to the information I have, he is captured on a video. But I assure you of one thing: that person is not shamed by any video, by any act, by anything. He has lost every moral standard of a civilized person.
Beyond the Political Rhetoric: The Nexus Between Ergys Agasi and Vlora Hyseni
Berisha’s public remarks come against the backdrop of one of the deepest institutional scandals to shake Albania’s security apparatus: the so-called “Agasi File.” Long perceived as an untouchable shadow operator and an influential powerbroker bridging political backrooms and underworld figures, Ergys Agasi has seen his network unravel following an extensive investigation by the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK).
Central to the investigation is Agasi’s compromising liaison with the director of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH), Vlora Hyseni. While Hyseni initially attempted to justify the relationship by claiming Agasi was recruited merely as a “confidential informant,” the forensic extraction of encrypted communications seized by SPAK tells a drastically different story.
Between late June and late August 2026 alone, investigators uncovered over 500 direct messages, dozens of encrypted video calls, and daily operational coordination between the head of national intelligence and the controversial businessman. The records reveal Hyseni debriefing Agasi on sensitive state matters, including her official schedule with the Prime Minister and high-level police brass, as well as prospective political appointments.
In one intercepted exchange exposed in investigative files, as the legal net began to close in, the chief of intelligence reassured the businessman:
“O shpirt… do ia hedhim.”
(“Oh darling… we will get through this.”)
In other messages, operational security protocols were discarded in favor of intimate pledges and institutional leaks:
“Mos u bëj merak, çdo gjë e kam nën kontroll këtu. Të njoftoj sapo të dal nga takimi me shefin.”
(“Don’t worry, I have everything under control here. I will let you know as soon as I finish the meeting with the boss.”)
“Shpirt, po e menaxhojmë situatën, do përfundojmë keq po doli jashtë…”
(“Darling, we are managing the situation, but we will end up badly if this leaks out…”)
Investigators point out that sensitive classified state data was subsequently discovered stored inside Agasi’s personal vehicles and unencrypted digital devices—completely bypassing official intelligence protocols.
Weaponized Diversion: Leaks, Deepfakes, and Manufactured Scandals
Faced with severe criminal charges and an escalating political crisis, the apparatus surrounding the Agasi–Hyseni nexus has pivoted to what security analysts describe as an aggressive counter-offensive of public distraction.
According to investigative findings, a coordinated ring of captured online portals, bought commentators, and digital assets funded by these networks has flooded public discourse with salacious personal material. Over recent weeks, an orchestrated campaign has unleashed unverified, stolen, and often manipulated footage targeting the private lives of ordinary citizens, artists, and public figures.
Several of these distributed videos have been identified as digitally modified or outright manufactured deepfakes, designed specifically to saturate the digital sphere, derail media scrutiny, and exhaust public attention. By reducing national dialogue to voyeuristic internet gossip, the group seeks to bury the real crisis: the compromise of national intelligence secrets, the criminal weaponization of institutional power, and the high-level wiretaps that threaten the very core of the ruling majority. || GazetaAlbania.com
